Yesterday, I was invited to join my friend Cheryl and her friend (my new friend) Marian for lunch and a stroll around the Martinez Marina.

We had hamburgers and hot dogs, took pictures of each other, and the birds.

I don't know about this goose, it has the plumage of a Canadian Goose but the shape of a domestic goose...

Sounds like a good way to spend your lunchtime. I like especially your second photo, of the goose in the grass. I suppose on the next photo the goose is walking the parking lot? Weird animals, why don't they stick to the water and the grass, hahaha!

Hi Gerda, the reason these geese, and all the birds, end up in the parking lot is because so many people feed them there. There are signs clearly posted not to feed the birds but no one seems to pay any attention. Even if you do not have food they are conditioned to walk right up to you.
