I wanted to get out and do something yesterday evening, so I headed to the park downtown. Along the way a cop sat in his car waiting for speeders, but his head was out the window, neck crooked to the sky. No sooner than I passed him when the UFO appeared -- no no no -- it was a WWII B17 barely clearing the tops of the houses. It slowly banked in front of me and disappeared on its approach to the airport. The hell with the park, I was off to the airport!
When I arrived the B17 had already landed and taxied out of sight. I found some other photographers looking for the same plane -- and then I learned Concord has a big aviation weekend planned. A few minutes later a dot in the sky turned out to be another WWII plane, a B25. This plane mostly saw action in Europe (historians can weigh in here)... It gracefully made a U-turn and landed right in front of us.

Then it taxied back and paraded in front of us.

We thought the show was over when this little ultra light darted out from where the B25 had gone.

The sun was getting low so I packed it up, got tacos at Taco Bell, and went home :)
